Supported tags and respective Dockerfile links

• snapshot Dockerfile - The snapshot is the most recent Travis continuous integration build outcome for the BES component of the Hyrax Data Server, it represents the current state of the master branch of the BES and its components.

Note: The snapshot container may not work as expected as it is not part of a formalized release. If you want a stable release version you can use the besd program bundled with a numbered release of the Hyrax Data Server.

Quick start

Run the container like this:

docker run -h besd -p ***:*** --name=besd opendap/besd:snapshot

Command explanation:

• -h besd - Sets the hostname for the server to besd .
• -p ***:*** - Maps your system's port *** to the docker hosts port *** (where the besd is listening). Your system's port is the first one , before the colon. If you wanted to map your system port 9090 to the docker host port *** you would say: -p 9090: ***
• --name= besd - Sets the name of the docker container to besd .
• opendap/besd:snapshot - The name of the docker image that will be run.

Test the it by using the bescmdln application to connect it. If launched as described above the bescmdln application should find it by default. At the prompt issue the command show version;

Add the docker run command parameter --volume /home/mydata:/usr/share/hyrax to serve your own data in place of the test data.
